Deciding between in-person and online hypnotherapy treatment depends on your individual preferences, needs and circumstances. The same techniques of treatment are used for online and in-person sessions, therefore therapy delivered through both methods is equally effective.
I provide detailed guidance to clients prior to online sessions (done through Zoom) to ensure its effectiveness. Clients receive instructions on how to create a conducive environment, optimising technical setup and are told what to expect during sessions. Customers can also choose to have some sessions done online and some in person.
The factors to consider are:
· Preference for Interaction: Some clients may prefer the face-to-face interaction and personalised attention offered by in-person hypnotherapy sessions. Others may feel equally comfortable engaging with treatment online through video conferencing platforms.
· Convenience: Online hypnotherapy offers the convenience of receiving treatment from the comfort of your own home, without the need to travel. This can be especially beneficial for people with busy schedules or mobility issues.
· Privacy: Some individuals may feel more comfortable discussing personal issues or undergoing therapy in the privacy of their own home. Other people may prefer to come out of the home environment, especially if they find difficult to find privacy in their own house.
· Technology: Having a well-functioning device such as iPad, laptop or PC with a microphone is essential for the online session. Mobile phones can be used only if you are fully visible on the screen. Video calls over the phone cannot be used for EMDR treatment, as this involves eye movement and there has to be a bigger screen to accommodate that.
